"Something, Maybe" is about a girl whose life is not the norm. Her mom makes a living off of her website talking to strangers and her dad lives in his 'castle' in New York with his television show, Hannah hasn't seen him in 5 years ever since her step-dad passed away. Hannah is just trying to live in her small town world and crush on the guy she's been dreaming about since she got there, Josh. But, when Hannah finds a secret about Josh she can't take standing down, will she learn to deal with it? Or try and see if there is something between her and her childhood friend- Finn? She must learn to live with the bad and the good of life in this romantic and action-packed book. People who would like this book are people who love 'small-town girl' books. This book also interests reality-show t.v. junkies, since Hannah's dad secretly surprises her, making her the star of his show for the day. Girls and guys who like romance, this book is for you. Love with a twist- Hannah and Josh? Or Hannah and Finn? It's all a little crazy in this 'small-town' world of Hannah's.
The Science Fiction book I am currently reading-and have read many times before- is Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. This book is about a young girl named Tally who loses her best friend, Peris, to the Pretty Operation, which turns you into a true, perfect beauty when you turn 16. Tally has a late birthday, so she is very excited and anxious about turning Pretty and moving into New Pretty Town. When she is affiliated with an Ugly, Shay, who has run away from Uglyville and away from civilization all together, she must go after Shay and bring her back before Tally can become Pretty. But at the time she reaches The Smoke, the civilization who hates Pretties and never get the operation, she falls in love with the system in which they have created plus a leader there named David. She must decide whether she is going to betray the Smoke and turn Pretty or stay and never be the perfect model Peris is. This decision is also influences by a very confidential secret in which David has confided in her. Will she ever be able to return? Or will this choice be made for her? To find out, please read this amazing and intriguing novel!
This book would spark interest in action-lovers and hopeless romantics. There is also a lot of new space-age technology in this book that could be very interesting to science fiction lovers and Star Wars fans alike. :)
