The book I just finished is called "Crash." Crash is the nickname given to John coogan because he always crashed into things. The name caught on and stuck. Crash, always good at crashing became an amazing football player. His best friend was also on the football team and he wasn't the best person. Mike Deluca was starting to pick on kids like Crashes neighbor, Penn Webb. Crash also hated Penn and went along with Mike's pranks. As the school year went on the pranks started to get worse. After a while Crash started to feel sorry for Penn and stopped making fun of him as much as he used to. Crash had a hard decision to make. Either he would stay behing his "best" friend or he would stick up to someone who was getting picked on and possibly save his life.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes books that they can picture in their mind. Also anyone who isn't very interested in sports would not like this book as much as others would.
The book "Island of the Blue Dolphins" is about a village who were called the Ghalas-at peoples. One summer and evil tribe called the Aluets came and basically took over the island, they killed half the villages men and their leader, Karana and Ramo's dad. A little while later with not many people left a boat came to save them. Rushing to get all their food and weapons Karana's brother Ramo was left behind. Caring for her younger sibling Karana jumped off the moving boat and swam to shore to save him. After living on the island with him for only a few days one night when Karana woke up Ramo was missing. She found that he had been killed by the ferocious wild dogs. With the boat not coming back, Karana was by herself on a very dangerous island. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes story's of survival. If you don't like a story that takes place outside the whole time this would not be your book.
House of the Scorpion is written by Nancy Farmer and its about a powerful drug dealer who created his seventh clone but this time it wasn't used for transplants.
